We are so grateful that you have joined us in the fight against hunger! You're in good company here we all share your belief that there's no need for anyone to go hungry when there's plenty of good food to go around. Your $2,500 donation will help us provide more than 5,000 meals to hungry people in the Toronto area.

Who You Help

You and our fellow donors enable Second Harvest to rescue and deliver fresh food to agencies like the Loyola Arrupe Centre for Seniors (LACS) in Toronto's Davenport neighbourhood.

With just two staff members, and over 500 people accessing its programs, LACS feels the weight of an aging population. Aiming to help seniors socialize, many of whom face severe isolation, the food program urges many seniors to get out of the house and join peers for a meal, where they can socialize while waiting for food. For 97 years old Floris, it's the cauliflower and broccoli that she looks forward to the most!

How You Help

Your support ensures we keep our 10 trucks and 1 van on the road, bridging the gap between fresh, surplus food, which would otherwise go to waste, and people who are hungry. Our trucks are on the move 7 days a week, reaching 310,000 food insecure people a year through our 253 partner agencies!
